Oculoplastics

Oculoplastic surgeons treat conditions involving the orbit (eye socket), eyelids, tear ducts, and face. These include:

  • Fixing droopy eyelids that may interfere with your field of vision.
  • Opening blocked tear ducts.
  • Reconstructing eyelids and other structures that support the eye.
  • Repairing eye injuries after serious accidents (trauma).
  • Repairing congenital eye conditions.
  • Cosmetic procedures such as eyebrow lifts or eyelid surgery.

Blepharoplasty and Eyelid Rejuvenation

As part of the natural process of aging, your eyelids can become baggy or droopy. In addition to making you look older, sleepy or simply tired, this process can also lead to brow and eyelid strain.

There are a number of procedures that can reduce the appearance of baggy, droopy eyelids by removing excess skin and fat from the upper and lower eyelids. This gives a younger, healthier appearance and can correct visual obstruction by drooping eyelids.

Eyelid surgery that improves the appearance of the eyelids is often called an “eye lift” or “blepharoplasty.” This surgery can be performed on both the upper and the lower eyelids.
