DR. KIRK STURRIDGE

Physician and Surgeon

Dr. Kirk Sturridge, a board-certified Ophthalmologist, specializes in glaucoma and cataract surgery, and has personally performed thousands of eye surgeries for diverse eye conditions.

He completed Glaucoma fellowship training at the University of Iowa, under the tutelage of the top-ranking glaucoma specialists in the world. Dr. Sturridge has been recognized as one of America’s Top Ophthalmologists by the Consumers’ Research Council of America.

DR. ARANGO

Physician and Surgeon

Dr. Jorge Arango is a boardcertified ophthalmologist who is fellowship-trained in Vitreoretinal Medicine and Surgery. He graduated from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1993 and completed his Ophthalmology residency at the
University of South Florida. Under the guidance of Dr. Peter Reed Pavan, he completed his fellowship training at the University of South Florida Eye Institute in Tampa, Florida in 1998. While there, he was honored by the USF Ophthalmology Residents with the prestigious“Fellow of the Year” award for his dedication to teaching and learning. He has practiced in the Wiregrass area since 2005, focusing his expertise on diseases of the eye involving the vitreous and retina. Dr. Arango joined Dr. Thompson at Retina Associates of Alabama in 2010.

He has been board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology since 1999, and completed his board re-certification in 2009. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists, and Alabama Academy of Ophthalmology. His clinical and research interests include state of the art treatments for macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, as well as minimally-invasive vitrectomy surgery.

When not at the office, Dr.  Arango can be found at his farm on the outskirts of Dothan. He and his wife Deena have 6 children. He enjoys fishing , spending time in the outdoors with his family, and is a practicing Roman Catholic who attends the Traditional Latin Mass.
